On April 7th FC Žalgiris played its first match at LFF Stadium this season and triumphed against the rival team FC Trakai. After a horrible first half the Green-Whites made a comeback and secured another win with the result 3:2 (0:2).

The first half of the match was like a nightmare for the home team. The opposition took advantage of FC Žalgiris mistakes and already on 7th minute was leading 1:0. The goalscorer was Mukanya Kabobola. FC Žalgiris were putting a lot of work to equalize the game but it all became even worse after another mistake by the defense which led to Justinas Marazas scoring another goal for FC Trakai and the result was 0:2.

Despite the terrible start FC Žalgiris didn’t give up. From the first seconds of the second half the team started pressing the opposition. Tomaš Malec became a hero of the day as he scored 3 goals and brought his team a win. But it took a very hard team work to keep the win at the last minutes of the game as the opposition made a few dangerous plays. FC Žalgiris captain Linas Klimavičius managed to block a few powerful shots from FC Trakai and the Green-Whites were celebrating the win.

On April 11th FC Žalgiris will travel to Klaipėda to face FC Atlantas.
