On Tuesday French player Jeremy Manzoro signed a contract with FC Žalgiris and immediately joined his new team in a training session.
26-years old player spent second half of 2017 season in Lithuania and was an important member of FC Sūduva team from Marijampolė. Manzorro played 10 games in A league and though he didn‘t score, but provided 5 assists to his teammates. With Sūduva he became Lithuanian champion. After the season bought out his contract with a club and Žalgiris took advantage of this situation.
Manzorro started professional career in France with „Stad Reims“, but his best years so far were in Bulgaria. 2013-2014 season he spent with Chernomorets team from Burgas, played 30 championship games and scored 3 goals. From 2014 till 2016 he played for Slavia team from Sofia. During one and a half season he took part in 45 championship games and scored 11 goals. At the begining of 2016 season he was loaned to Anarthosis team from Famagusta, and before arriving to Lithuania had a brief spell with Iranian team FC Paykan.
According Žalgiris sports director Mindaugas Nikoličius, Manzorrro was watched closely for last few years. „We wanted to sign him to a contract before the 2014 season and though we didn‘t succeed but we kept good relations with a player. After he became free agent we took the opportunity and offered him a new contract. He is very inteligent and highly skilled midfielder with a superb field vission. I hope that together with another French player – Serge Nyuiazdi he will form a lethal attacking tandem“, – said Nikoličius.
At the moment Žalgiris has 19 players under the contract. According Nikoličius, at least five new players can join the club before Žalgiris will leave to training camp in Turkey.
