The leader of A league FC Žalgiris secured a second victory in a row, while beating Utenis Utena 2:1 in 25th round of Lithuanian championship.


Capital side started the game well and took advantage of one of the chances. On 30 minutes Elivelto made a run into the penalty box and found Bahrudin Atajič, who sent the ball into the back of the net.

Second half was tougher for the reigning champions, as Utenis had a one clear chance to level up the score, also, on 65 minutes referee showed Mantas Kuklys second yellow card and the midfielder was sent off. However, on 76 minutes Matija Ljujič performed a great solo run and scored a goal with his right leg.

Nevertheless, Utenis pulled one goal back on 78 minutes, when Carlos Carrasco smashed the ball past Armantas Vitkauskas from around 25 metres.
