FC Žalgiris anniversary was finished on a high note – Lithuanian champions first conceded a goal but then came back storming and overcame IFK Gothenburg by scoreline 3:1.

The hosts had a couple of chances in the beginning of the game, however, on 15 minutes Tobias Hysen found himself absolutely free in the penalty box and was precise. Nevertheless, on 28 minutes Serge Nyuiadzi made a cross from the right side and Elivelto left his opponent behind him, while bouncing a nice header past 18-year old goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.

Later both Žalgiris goalkeepers – Armantas Vitkauskas and Saulius Klevinskas – stepped into the action and made a key saves. On 61 minutes Vilnius side scored the second goal – after the corner from Matija Ljujič Darvydas Šernas headed the ball into the back of the net.

Both coaches made a lot of substitutions, though, Žalgiris managed to seal the game in an amazing fashion. On 90+2 minutes newcomer Liviu Antal took a long-range screamer and heated up the crowd.
