As UEFA Champions league qualification is nearing, FK Žalgiris Vilnius has acquired services of Serbian striker Andrija Kaludjerovic.


One of the oldest Serbian club’s OFK Beograd, which raised such players as London Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic and Manchester City footballer Aleksandar Kolarov, youth academy; high-quality performance in Red Star Belgrade and Serbian league’s top scorer title; National team and Olympic games in Beijing. This is the dossier of Serbian ace.

“We are really happy to sign a new striker and we are also very happy that Andrija has chosen FK Žalgiris. I think that he will bring a lot to our club as he has proved his quality many times in his career by scoring goals everywhere he played.

“He will bring to our club big international experience, which will be without any doubt invaluable to us in UEFA Champions league games.

“I think that five weeks before European challenge is enough to adapt to the new team. We also have two more titles in Lithuania we want to win: national championship and the Cup.

“Andrija is very interesting player with massive amount of experience. He plays very good on offside trap-line and has an enormous sense of smell for scoring goals, which was proved by netting more than 100 goals in very different parts of the world”, - said FK Žalgiris Vilnius sports director Mindaugas Nikoličius.

A. Kaludjerovic has played in various countries: Serbia (FK Rad, Red Star Belgrade, OFK Beograd, FK Vojvodina), China (Buoan Beijing), Spain (Racing Santander), Cyprus (AEL Limassol), Switzerland (FC Thun), Qatar (Al-Shahania Doha) and Australia (Brisbane Roar). In more than 260 games he scored more than 100 goals and made 16 assists.

The striker also played in various levels of National team: under 21, under 23 and senior team. In 2008 A. Kaludjerovic helped his country to compete in Beijing Olympics for U-23 team. Since 2010 he is playing for the senior National team.

The deal between FK Žalgiris Vilnius and the player will be officially signed when A. Kaludjerovic will come to Vilnius, Lithuania and pass the medical. He may make his debut game in the club on 15th of June in a match against FK Trakai.
