FK Žalgiris Vilnius are not pulling any breaks in strengthening the team before the new season and are happy to announce about the newest addition to the squad – Marin Matoš. The player signed a long-term contract.
Croatian is known for his good understanding of the game; he can also play in attacking or defensive midfield position. M. Matoš was taught at Dinamo Zagreb and Red Bull Salzburg academies, scoring 12 goals and making 3 assists at the Austrian junior club.
“We were searching for this particular kind of player, who is very universal in midfield position and has leadership qualities. Marin has a good short and long pass, as well as technical skills. We hope that with his help we can unlock the full potential of our attacking players and the Croatian himself will also be successful regarding goals”, - FK Žalgiris sporting director Mindaugas Nikoličius said.
The midfielder also played for Ujpest Budapest, Cibalia Vinkovic, NK Slaven and NK Istra 1961. During his professional career he bagged 27 goals.
Marin Matoš is the sixth addition to the team during this preseason. Previously Saulius Mikoliūnas, Linas Klimavičius, Simonas Stankevičius, Bahrudin Atajic and Pape Mamadou Mbodj has joined the club.
