FC Žalgiris Vilnius are delighted to anounce that the club and Portuguese player Jorge Chula has reached an agreement, the footballer has decided to commit his future with Lithuanian champions.


A player, who is known for his creativity, speed and ball control, can play as a right winger or a stirker and before joining FC Žalgiris has been playing in Portuguese Second division for Desportivo des Aves side.

„For a long time we wanted to have a Portuguese player in our squad. Jorge had a very high chance to join our team in the winter transfer window, but we couldn‘t reach an agreement with his club at that time. We are delighted to anounce that all the details are taken care of and the player is ready to train with FC Žalgiris.

The signing of Jorge Chula is part of our preparation for UEFA Champions league. We were looking for a quick player, who could run faster than his opponents. We believe that Jorge and Lucas (Gaucho) will adapt to our team very quickly and will help us to reach our goal in the Champions league qualification“, - said FC Žalgiris sporting director Mindaugas Nikoličius.

Jorge Chula started his career in FC Porto youth academy and later joined the senior squad. The player was loaned to other teams for several times: Second division Tourizense side and Dutch Eredivisie side FC Venlo, where he played 27 games.

In 2012 Jorge Chula signed for Sporting Lisbon and played 11 games for its B team. Since 2013 the footballer has played for Portuguese First division Maritimo Madeira club and after a year he joind Desportivo des Aves.
