Vilnius „Žalgiris“ has starded preparation for the new season by strenghthening their midfield. Vytautas Lukša, one of the ex-star of „Trakai“, has joined the capital city team
Lukša was training with the team on Tuesday, january 6.
„Vytautas is a true professional, hard working, he will be a very good addition to the team“, - said new „Žalgiris“ manager Valdas Dambrauskas.
An experienced footballer was born in Alytus. He played for Alytus „Dainava“, than „FC Vilnius“. He also played fot „FBK Kaunas“ and Panevėžys „Ekranas“, where he won Lithuanian championship in 2012.
Lukša played a lot abroad. He represented „MTZ-RIPO“ from Minsk, Mariupol „Iličevets“, Kiev „Arsenal“, Edinburgh „Hearts“, Warsaw „Polonia“ and „FK Gomel“.
„He is a mature player. We believe he will be a good support while playing in UEFA Champions League qualification and become a key player in the squad.
Lithuania is a small country, he knows most of the players, so the adaptation in the club should not take long“, - told head coach Valdas Dambrauskas.
Last year Vytautas Lukša played in „Trakai“. He scored 7 goals and made 13 assists. He made the most assists in the Lithuanian A league.
